Morrisons has failed in its appeal against a finding that it was vicariously liable for an employee's unlawful disclosure of his co-workers' personal data (Wm Morrison Supermarkets plc v Various Claimants [2018] EWCA Civ 2339). The employee, who was a senior member of the IT team at Morrisons, held a grudge against the supermarket chain following disciplinary action.
