What mechanical finishing looks or hands are in fashion now? We asked our experts.rnCrisan Popescu of Aachen University: "For 2011, I'm seeing a more lustrous appearance. The fashionable handles are currently soft/harsh, plush/clean, and soft/light. There is an increasing need for an aerated "second skin" hand. Cellulosics will see more cold pressing and glass paper teasing. Wool will see more teasing. For hemp and linen, a more peach-skin surface with a soft hand. Linen and synthetics will need more pressing for a clean, flat surface; both will need a soft hand."
