BackgroundThe multifunctional receptor LRP1 controls expression, activity and trafficking of the PDGF receptor-β in vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMC). LRP1 is also a receptor for TGFβ1 and is required for TGFβ mediated inhibition of cell proliferation.
