BackgroundImplant-based breast reconstruction (IBR) is the most common approach to reconstruct mastectomy deffects. Infection following breast reconstruction can be devastating and lead to loss of the reconstruction due to the need of implant removal. The serratus anterior muscle flap is widely used during breast reconstruction to provide coverage of the implant/expander.
