Lack of adverse effects during a target animal safety trial of extended-release buprenorphine in Fischer 344 rats

Mean ± s.d. body weight (g) of male and female rats at day 0, 2 and 4. Single-sex groups of rats ( = 4) received either a control injection or one of three different doses of buprenorphine. Body weight did not differ significantly between groups of male or female rats at any point during the study.
