Endometriosis and inflammation menstrual materials retrograde flow to the peritoneal cavity and implant into tissues. Inflammatory cells are recruited to lesions and stimulate multiple inflammatory mediators. These substances form an inflammatory microenvironment and promote the development of lesion that retroact on inflammatory cells and mediators.
