This experiment was conducted to evaluate the influence of vitamin premix level on gestating sows on physiological response and reproductive performance. A total of 52 sows (Yorkshire × Landrace), with the BW at 223.49 ± 31.65 kg, were allotted to 4 treatments in 13 replicates with similar BW, backfat thickness and parity in a completely random design (CRD). Four treatment diets were formulated with 1, 3, 6, 9 times of vitamin requirement of NRC (2012). During lactation period, all sows were fed the same lactation diet. During gestation and lactation period, body weight and backfat thickness were not affected by dietary levels of vitamin. However, feed intake showed a tendency to increase as dietary vitamin level increased. Although a quadratic response of WEI was observed, there was no significant difference in WEI among treatments. In reproductive performance, there was no significant difference in litter size and litter weight at 24 hrs postpartum and 21 days of lactation. In milk composition, no significant difference was observed in milk composition of sows fed different levels of vitamin. Consequently, there was no detrimental effects on physiological response and reproductive performance as different vitamin premix was provided to gestating sows. This experiment demonstrated that vitamin requirement of NRC for gestating sows was adequate and vitamin premix should be supplemented with economical basis.
