Percutaneous stent placement for malignant hilar biliary obstruction: side-by-side versus stent-in-stent technique

A 48-year-old woman with a Klatskin tumor presented with obstructive jaundice. Cholangiography shows a Bismuth type II hilar stricture. Two 8 mm*6 cm self-expandable stents were successfully deployed across the stricture using the side-by-side technique. Repeat cholangiography shows good passage of the contrast agent through the bilateral stents
