Intra-procedure Visualization of the Esophagus using Interventional C-arm CT as Guidance for Left Atrial Radiofrequency Ablation

Rational and ObjectivesDuring radiofrequency catheter ablation (RFCA) for atrial fibrillation, the esophagus is at risk for thermal injury. In this study we compared using C-arm CT to clinical CT, without administration of oral contrast, to visualize the esophagus and its relationship to the left atrium (LA) and the ostia of the pulmonary veins (PV) during the RF ablation procedure.
