BackgroundFocal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) recurs after kidney transplantation in more than 30 % of cases and can lead to allograft loss. Serum soluble urokinase -type plasminogen activator receptor (suPAR) is implicated in the pathogenesis of native and recurrent FSGS.
