BACKGROUNDThe incidence of Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) has doubled over the past two decades, becoming the fifth most common cancer worldwide. Orthotopic liver transplant (OLT) is the gold standard treatment for those with HCC meeting eligibility criteria, although recurrence rates of HCC after OLT still remain an under-studied obstacle.
