BackgroundFrontline therapy for older and/or unfit patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) remains unsatisfactory. We studied a new lower-intensity regimen of cladribine combined with low-dose cytarabine (LDAC) alternating with decitabine (DAC) aimed to improve outcomes in this population Based on our prior experience, we hypothesized that this combination would be safe and more active than current approaches with hypomethylating agents.
