摘要

A microcomputer-based medical information system for nuclear submarines is ready for fleet-wide implementation. Experience with such systems in the past indicates that successful implementation depends strongly on training of the system's users, in this case Hospital Corpsmen. Because Corpsmen may lack essential clinical skills and because they are geographically dispersed, a syllabus and special education tools have been developed that can accomplish the educational goals, be used for individual or group instruction, and be adapted to a variety of teaching styles. Examples of these tools are given here and others will be shown during the live presentation. An argument is made for incorporation of “educational” development as part of overall development strategy, to provide for effective implementation of similar systems.
