The Use of Hospital Information Systems Data Base with Word Processing and Other Medical Records System Applications

The approach frequently used to introduce computer technology into a hospital Medical Records Department is to implement a Word Processing System. Word processing is a form of computer system application that is intended to improve the department's productivity by improving the medical information transcription process. The effectiveness of the Word Processing System may be further enhanced by installing system facilities to provide access to data processing file information in the Hospital's Patient History Data Base, as well as providing other computational facilities. The information maintained in the Data Base also permits improved resources for our Administration's decision making processing.
