BackgroundDiffuse pigmented villonodular synovitis (PVNS) of the knee is a rare proliferative joint disease associated with high recurrence rates following surgical treatment. Intra-articular joint instability in conjunction with PVNS implies complex reconstructive strategies due to the destructive nature of the disease.
