Objective The past researches have shown that angiosclerosis was closely associated with serum homocysteine level in elderly type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. The current study aimed to investigate the relationship between homocysteine and brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity(ba-PWV)in elderly people with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Method 60 elderly type 2 diabetes mellitus patients were divided into 2 groups according to serum homocysteine,group A 31 cases(Hcy≤10.5umol/L),group B 29 cases(Hcy>10.5umol/L). The ba-PWV was examined at the same time. Results The ba-PWV was 1805.71±312.52cm/s in group A and 1992.45 ±365.79cm/s in group B.
