[Objective] Gummy stem bIight is an important disease in meIons. Identification of germpIasm and breeding of meIon resistance to GSB are the most effective way to controI GSB disease in the fieId. [Method]In this study, l40 meIon Iandraces in Xinjiang Region were screened for resistance to GSB by the way of inocuIation on seedIings. [ Result] After the first investigation of resistance to GSB, 53 Iandraces incIuding ' Huangdanzi ' were resistant to GSB on Ieaf symptom, and aII Iandraces except ' HongrouakeIawati ' were highIy resistant to stem symptom. After the second investigation, aII Iandraces were susceptibIe to GSB but 5 Iandraces except ' Oiuhuangpi bairou kekouGi ' were toIerant to Ieaf symptom, and 6 Iandraces incIuding ' Oiuhuangpi bairou kekouqi ' were resistant to stem symptom. Resistant symptom on Ieaf and stem of meIon was positiveIy correIated, and correIation coefficient was 0. 88.[ Iconclusion] Resistant symptom on Ieaf to GSB was dispIayed earIier and more heaviIy than that on stem* but there was notabIe significance in reIationship between symptom on Ieaf and stem to GSB. ' Oiuhuangpi bairou kekouGi' was highIy resistant to GSB, and ' KaIakesai ' , ' Paotaihong' , ' Hami jiageda' , ' Tacheng dongtiangua' and ' BaiIangua ' were resistant to GSB.
