Torreya grandis is a rare, woody, oily, dry fruit species native to China, with high seed yield and oil quality. The economic return ofT. grandisranged from 90 000 to 180 000 Yuan/hm2, and it was at the top of all the non-timber forest species in mountain areas. The mountain areas of Southern Anhui has good natural conditions and abundant wild T. grandisresources, and local people have enthusiasm and cultivation experience of developmentT. grandis, so it is the preferred region for expanding cultivation ofT. grandis. The advantages of developingT. grandis industry in Southern Anhui were elucidated in terms of cultivation history and natural conditions, and the main approaches of developingT. grandiswere proposed including demonstration base establishment and wild resources transformation and utilization. Meanwhile, for the problems related toT. grandis industry development in this area, some suggestions were put forward, for example,① to strengthen the selection, introduction and testing of improved varieties and to screen out those applicable to this area,② to accelerate the cultivation of seedlings, especially those big seedlings by introducing and optimizing the technical system of seedling rapid propagation for guaranteeing seedling supply for development,③ to establish a demonstration base of big-sized seedlings plantation and samples of wild resources transformation and utilization for improving demonstration effects,④ to work well in technical service and economic support.%香榧为我国特有的珍稀干果和高产优质的木本油料树种，栽培效益达90000～180000元/hm2，居山地经济林之首。皖南山区自然条件优越，野生榧树资源丰富，群众有发展香榧的积极性和栽培经验，是我国香榧扩大栽培的首选地域。文中从栽培历史、自然条件等方面阐述了皖南山区发展香榧产业的优势，提出了示范基地建设和野生资源改造利用是该地区香榧发展的主要途径，并就该地区香榧产业的发展问题提出了如下几条措施建议：①加强良种选、引和测试工作，及时筛选出适于该地区发展的良种；②引进和优化苗木快繁技术体系，加快苗木特别是大苗培育，保证发展用苗；③建立大苗造林示范基地和野生榧树改造利用样板，提高示范效果；④做好技术服务和必要的经济扶持工作。
