A new sub - surface excavation construction method for metro station, namely the arch - cover method is introduced, which is developed on the basis of cut - and - cover method, cover - excavation method and PBA construction method. This new method is applicable for special strata and could meet the construction requirements of metro station, especially the large span of metro station on homogeneous or non - homogeneous soils, and often uses the drilling- and- blasting method. The merits of this method include less influence on environment, simpler working procedure, higher efficiency and safety.
