约瑟夫·海勒的《第二十二条军规》被认为是一部卓越的荒诞反战小说。很少有评论家注意到一位比较重要的配角-被描述为经常发恶梦的亨格利·乔，也没有评论家研究亨格利·乔的恶梦和导致恶梦的因素。本篇论文尝试从心理分析的角度来解读《第二十二条军规》中亨格利·乔的恶梦。借用弗洛伊德的释梦的理论，哈特曼的恶梦分析理论观点来剖析亨格利·乔的恶梦及其成因。%Joseph Heller’s Catch-22 is considered a brilliant anti-war novel of the absurd. Few critics have noticed the significance of an important minor character Hungry Joe, who is described as a person who often has nightmares. None of them have investigated Hungry Joe’s nightmares and the factors leading to his nightmares.This essay is an attempt to approach the novel from another perspective and to provide a psychological interpretation of Hungry Joe’s nightmares as they are described in the novel, by applying Freudian’s theory of interpretation of dreams and Ernest Hartmann’s theory of the origin and meaning of dreams and nightmares.
