市场需求为导向应用能力为目标--浅议高校转型背景下大学英语的教学改革

2014年3月份教育部副部长鲁昕表示，600多所地方本科高校将实行转型，向应用技术型转，向职业教育类型转。在此大背景下，大学英语路在何方呢？笔者认为，大学英语应该乘“转型东风”，大刀阔斧的进行改革，转移传统通识教育的重心，增开专门用途英语(ESP)即English for Specific Purpose，切实培养学生对英语的综合应用能力，以满足市场的需要。%In March, 2014, Lu Xin, the minister of Ministry of Education expressed that more than 600 provincial colleges would transformed into application-oriented colleges or vocational school. With this background, college English teaching should also be reformed, traditional English for general purpose transforming into English for specific purpose, to develop students' integrated application competence and meet the market demand.
