Portable tester of braking performance is developed for solving the inspection issue of dynamic test on the road. The tester is a kind of comprehensive testing instrument with the major test item of mean fully developed deceleration ( MFDD) , and associated with some other auxiliary test items. The developing background and principle of the tester, as well as the judicial applications of this tester for identifying the safety performance of vehicles involving traffic accidents are introduced.
