A Cognitive Approach to Metaphors in Poems of Li Bai

摘要

Metaphor is a common language phenomenon,in the perspective of cognitive linguistics;however,metaphor is not just a rhetorical device but a thinking and cognitive method of human beings,it exists everywhere in life.Traditional analysis of metaphor in poetry mainly focuses on the emotions that metaphor implies,while conceptual metaphor in cognitive linguistics provides a new perspective to analyze poetry.
