Bertha——A Victim to the Patriarchal Social Conventions

摘要

Bertha Masan,the obstacle to the marriage between Jane and Rochester,is in fact a victim of the patriarchal society.This paper aims to make a tentative probe into the tragic destiny of Bertha from the perspective of patriarchal conventions.
