The global massive open online courses (MOOCs) have emerged and well developed, and it has a great impact on Chi⁃nese mainland education. This paper shows the current situation of the development of MOOCs in China and attempts to assess China’s readiness of taking part in open education movement worldwide. Also, this paper analyzes the factors impede the further development of MOOCs in China so that what kinds of solutions should we take, and the new scene that the development of MOOCs will bring for Chinese education.
