Cultivating Interdisciplinary Talents of Foreign Language by Constructing“EGP+ESP”Teaching Model

English for Specific Purposes (ESP) is an inevitable trend for reform of college English teaching. The paper is on the basis of theories on ESP teaching. Based on extensive investigation, it analyzes the main problems in current college English teaching which is EGP-oriented (English for General Purpose) and the necessity of teaching model“EGP+ESP”is demonstrat-ed in this paper. Moreover, it discusses specific measures on how to conduct teaching reform on the combination of“EGP and ESP”from five aspects including faculty construction, selection of teaching materials, curriculum design, teaching model, evalu-ation system in order to change students’general dissatisfaction for college English teaching and achieve the goal to cultivate in-terdisciplinary talents of foreign language for society.
