His works have an avant style in ab- stract art language, with new kinds of creative materials beyond traditional painting and sculpture media. The works of Kifer always have grand subjets, with profound rethought on culture and history of human socity. Kifer likes to put characters of myths, literature and history in his works. However, the avant style cannot prevent us analyzing his works from the classical view. This article analyzes the social function, imitation media and models, characteristics of tragedy of his works on the basis of Aristotle's literature and art theory, and tries to find the essence of Kifer's creation.
