傍着“活事件”讨论——“五四”时期湖南报刊“经世致用”精神解读之一

"Employing knowledge to govern the world", as the spiritual of Huxiang Culture, is the basic principle of learning and acting for the learned people in Hunan Province. Huxiang Culture continued to develop during the period of "May 4th Movement", gained practice and new life in the new era of Chinese cultural rebirth, and finally integrated into modern culture. In this process of historical and cultural transformation, the spiritual of "employing knowledge to govern the world" endowed the transformation with impetus, manners and characters and found its remarkable application in newspapers and journals by the way of "discussing along with living affairs". Discussions on "Zhao Wuzhen Affair" and "Hunan Autonomy Movement" were two typical examples.%“经世致用”是湖湘文化的精神特质，是湖湘士人治学和立身处世的基本原则。“五四”时期湖湘文化继续得到传承，但在整个中国文化“凤凰涅椠”的新时代，湖湘文化也在传承中得到锻炼，获得新生，实现了与现代文化的对接。在这一历史文化蜕变的过程中，湖湘文化“经世致用”的精神特质赋予了这一蜕变以动力、以方式、以特色。从新闻报刊的运作来看，“傍着活事件讨论”是“五四”时期湖南报刊“经世致用”精神十分突出的表现，围绕着“赵五贞事件”和“湖南自治运动”所展开的讨论即充分地表现了这一点。
