Social stratum relationship is significant in the development of socialism with Chinese characteristics. In the initial stage of reform and opening-up, DENG Xiao-ping put great emphasis on so-cial stratum relationship and put forward the basic ideas of making it harmonious, i. e., to promote the theoretical innovation of Marxist theory of class analysis as the theoretical base for the construction of har-monious social stratum relationship, to accelerate the development of social productivity as the material basis, to strengthen democracy and legal system as the systematic foundation. He also took many meas-ures to coordinate contradictions of different classes so as to realize the harmony of social stratum relation-ship and provided a useful reference to the construction of harmonious social stratum relationship at pres-ent.%阶层关系是中国特色社会主义事业发展中必须要处理好的重大关系。改革开放初期，邓小平高度重视阶层关系问题，提出促进阶层关系和谐的基本思路，即推进马克思主义阶级分析理论创新以构建阶层关系和谐的理论基础，加快社会生产力发展以构建阶层关系和谐的物质基础，加强民主法制建设以构建阶层关系和谐的制度基础，并采取很多具体举措，以有效地协调阶层矛盾，实现阶层关系和谐，为当前构建和谐的阶层关系提供了有益借鉴。
