The Role of Independent Poll in the Building of a Harmonious Society: Basic Experiences from Guangzhou Public Opinion Research Center

摘要

This thesis is concerned on the role of independent poll in the building of a harmonious society by the description and analysis of a particular case--Guangzhou Public Opinion Research Center (for short,the PORC). By public poll,the PORC helps developing communication between the officials and the common people and communication among the people of different views,providing evidence for the decision-making departments of Party and government organs to make scientific policies,providing inspections on public opinions for the governments to improve services and reflecting hot issues cared by the public.
