The new standard of OHSAS18001:2007 Occupational Health and Safety Management System has been published and implemented. The enterprises which were already certified by the Occupational Health and Safety Management System are facing with the problems of how to complete understand the new standard correctly, how to upgrade their Occupational Health and Safety Management System and to be the new edition in accordance with the requirement of the new standard. These problems have to be resolved and the system upgrade is imperative. As the result of the complete research of the new standard, the changes were analyzed in this article, including the update of concepts, terms, definitions, and the contents in the new standard. The characteristics of the new standard were also summarized in the article. It can be the designation and guidance for the certified enterprise to upgrade their Occupational Health and Safety Management System in accordance with the new standard.
