In the new century, the Orphan of Zhao has been adapted for stage play, film and TV series, drama etc. The adaptation of the play and film versions is typical and innovative. Conflicts are rewritten to dilute the good and evil. Characters are more humanized and complicated. The theme of the story has also been changed to inspire people to think diversely. The modern reconstruction of literary classics is not only the result of the law of literary creation, but also the profound reflection of the cul-ture of the age.
