Dreams of Ten Nights,written by Japanese writer Natsume Soseki,is one of his representative works at the summit of his writing career.Among these dreams,the story of the fourth night is especially short,with more insubstantial dreamland and more implicit philosophical connotations.Standing at a historical height,and from different time dimensions of the past,the present and the future,the writer advanced four basic questions concerning Japanese modernization in this mini-story,sending out inquiries and alertness towards Japanese society at that time,and expressed his strong desire and persistent belief for Japanese modernization.%《梦十夜》是日本作家夏目漱石的一部微型小说,是他创作高峰期的代表作之一。其第四夜篇幅更为简短,梦境更为飘忽,哲理内涵更为隐晦。文中,作者站在历史的高度,从过去、现在、未来等不同时间维度,向日本近代化提出了四个基本问题,向当时的日本社会发出了叩问和警醒;表达了他对于日本近代化的强烈愿望和执着信念。
