摘要

American philosopher of language, Grice, put up with Cooperative Principle and the Theory of Conversational Implicature, which exposes the characteristics of the verbal communication. Based on the Chinese - and - English version of Fortress Besieged, the paper discusses how to achieve equivalent translation during the process of literal translation and brings up several strategies of translation. During the process of literary translation, the Theory of Conversational Implicature is used to analyze the language, which helps the translator read between the lines and reproduce the implications in the translated text and achieve the equivalence between the original text and the translated text.%美国语言哲学家格莱斯提出的合作原则和会话含义理论揭示了言语交际过程中的特点．以《围城》以及珍妮·凯利和茅国权的英译本FortressBesieged为例，探讨了会话含义对文学翻译如何实现等效翻译的指导意义，并提出相应的翻译策略．在文学翻译中，运用会话含义理论分析语言，有助于译者捕捉原作字里行间的弦外之音，在译文中准确传递原文的隐含意义，实现译文与原文的等效．
