The hierarchical teaching in college English teaching in independent colleges is an effective teaching mode. But previous independent college English layered teaching practice in general English (taking) on the basis of the teaching position. Despite the emphasize on listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation of English ability, but with the applied talents training target is still some gap. Independent institute new positioning of college English refers to the general English (taking) and English for special purposes (ESP) with the combination of teaching orientation.
