日本艺妓文化在《雪国》汉译本中的表现

《雪国》是川端康成的第一部中篇小说，也是他最著名的代表作。小说中女主人公驹子为了给“未婚夫”行男筹钱治病而成为艺妓，为了向读者介绍驹子的身世，在小说中出现了大量带有日本艺妓文化独特内涵的词汇。这些都是我们了解日本艺妓文化的重要“文化符号”，那么在中文译本中这些重要的“文化符号”被原汁原味地表现出来了吗？让我们通过分析不同中文译本中这些“文化符号”的翻译来思考一下这个问题。%SnowCountryis Kawabata’s first novel, and also his most famous work. In this story, the heroine raises money to cure her fiance and becomes a geisha. In order to introduce her life experience to readers, there are many words used in the novel to recreate Japanese geisha culture. Because they are important“cultural symbols”for us to understand the Japanese geisha culture, we must ask whether they are faithfully translated in each of the Chinese editions. This paper will analyze these cultural symbols as they are described in different Chinese translations and consider the associated issues.
