Objective To discuss the clinical application of preoperative transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) in treating squamous cell carcinoma of tongue. Methods A total of 26 patients with pathologically proved squamous cell carcinoma of tongue were enrolled in this study. Using Seldinger technique, lingual artery angiography and TACE were carried out in all patients. Radical resection of tongue cancer was performed in 2-3 weeks after TACE. Results Super-selective catheterization and TACE was successfully accomplished in all patients. After TACE the tumor size was significantly decreased in all patients. During the operation, clear lesion's border was observed, and the amount of blood loss was less than usual. Conclusion For the treatment of squamous cell carcinoma of tongue, preoperative superselective TACE is safe and effective;it can increase the opportunity of surgical resection, reduce the surgical damage, and improve the quality of life as well as the survival rate.%目的：探讨舌鳞癌术前舌动脉化疗栓塞的临床应用价值。方法26例患者，病理活检确诊为舌鳞癌。采用Seldinger技术行舌动脉造影及化疗灌注栓塞治疗，术后2~3周行舌癌根治术。结果所有患者超选择性插管和栓塞均取得成功，栓塞术后瘤体均有明显缩小，手术时病变组织界限清楚，切除时出血减少。结论术前超选择舌动脉灌注化疗栓塞术具有安全性高，疗效好，增加手术机会，减轻手术创伤，提高患者生存质量和生存率。
