Objective To investigate the clinical effect of BORFA( Balloon Occlusion Radio-frequency Ablation) in patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma of 4 ~ 8 cm in diameter. Methods 11 patients with a total of 12 tumor nodules were treated with BORFA. The hepatic dysfunction, complications, local recurrences and ablation diameters were measured after the treatments. Results All tumor nodules were treated by single ablation, the ablation time was 68 ± 15 minutes, the lesion of abltion area with coag-ulative necrosis were 8.1 ±0.7 cm in long diameter and 7.6 ±0.5 cm in short diameter, the complete ablation rate of tumor nodule was 91.7% , the rate of local recurrence was 9.1%. All patients had no serious complications and recovered their liver function in 2 weeks. Conclusion BORFA is a effective treatment for liver cancer of diameter 4 ~ 8 cm in our pilot study. A multicenter, large sample and perspective clinical trial is further required to prove it.%目的 探讨肝动脉球囊阻断下单次射频消融(BORFA)在治疗无法手术切除的中大肝癌中的临床疗效.方法 对11例原发性肝癌患者(12个肿瘤结节,肿瘤直径4～8 cm)行BORFA治疗,术后监测和随访肝功能变化、并发症、局部复发和消融坏死范围.结果 本组病例中每个肿瘤结节均行单次消融,消融平均时间为68±15 min;消融坏死范围长径为8.1±0.7 cm,短径为7.6±0.5 cm;肿瘤结节完全消融率为91.7％；局部复发率为9.1％；消融后未见严重并发症；肝功能指标在2周内均恢复术前水平.结论 BORFA技术应用于直径4～8 cm的中大肝癌初步疗效满意,有必要展开多中心大样本的临床研究进一步论证.
