The paper analyzes the origin,development,function and significance of background explanation in news translation from perspectives of Germany Functionalist Teleology and discusses the cases of practical ap-plication in the practice of translating news.%从德国翻译功能主义目的论视域，对新闻翻译中背景解释产生的来源、发展、作用、意义以及在新闻翻译实践中对背景解释的实际运用进行了分析与论述。
