平等思想是卢梭学说的精华，其集中体现在《论人与人之间不平等的起因和基础》一书中。卢梭基于规范的伦理立场，破除社会和时代的局限性，将平等的内涵和标准植根于超越物质羁绊和时空限定的纯粹人格之中，进而把平等上升到道德平等理念的高度。而同时卢梭对于平等的论述实际是通过平等的反面即不平等来证成平等，对平等的否定之否定最终实现社会平等在于人们通过公约建立的共同体。%Equality is the essence of the doctrine of Rousseau, which is embodied in the book ＂A Discourse on Inequality＂. On the ethical position, Rousseau breaks the hmitation of the society and times, and roots the equal connotation and standard in pure personality, which is beyond the space and time limit. So equality is up to the level of the moral equality concept. At the same time, the justification of equality is actually done through the opposite of equality, namely inequality. Because of the negation to the negation of equality, Rousseau points out that people can establish a community by the convention to achieve social eoualitv.
