树木的真实感建模与绘制综述

     

摘要

To increase the realism as well as improve user immersion, in many computer graphics applications, e.g. entertainment and virtual reality, it is necessary to model and render trees realistically. However, the com-plexity and diversity of tree structure make such a task challenging. In this paper, we reviewed recent main work on realistic modeling and rendering of different tree components, such as tree branching structures, leaves and barks. Firstly, the modeling of tree branching structures is divided into four categories, where the contributions of each work are analyzed and discussed thoroughly. Secondly, the work on modeling and rendering leaves and barks with precise geometries is discussed. Finally, the characteristics of each work, their limitations and main applications are summarized, based on which the possible further research directions are also discussed.%在一些娱乐以及虚拟现实等应用中需要对现实世界进行真实感地建模和绘制,从而提升自然场景的逼真度,使用户具有更佳的沉浸感.然而,由于树木在形态结构上所具有的复杂性和多样性,给真实感建模和绘制树木带来了诸多挑战.文中回顾了过去几十年中,在树木的枝干、树叶以及树皮的真实感建模和绘制方面所取得的主要成果.首先将树木枝干的建模工作分为四大类进行分析和讨论;然后介绍树叶和树皮在精确几何建模及真实感绘制方面的工作;最后总结这些工作各自的特点及主要适用的场合,并进一步探讨了当前存在的问题及今后的研究方向.
