加拿大作家玛格丽特·阿特伍德继承了哥特式小说文学传统的基本形式，但对其中不合理的两性模式进行了颠覆，并对社会和人性作出深刻的反思，探讨男性与女性消除对抗，建立和谐的合作关系的可能。%Margret Atwood, a Canadian writer, succeeds to the basic form of traditional Gothic novel meanwhile she subverts the irrational inter- sexual pattern in the novels. She makes a deep study on the society and humanity to create the possibility of constructing a harmonious instead of antagonistic relationship between men and women.
