The well defined nanostructures can be constructed at solid/liquid interface under potential control with ions, organic molecules or other objects. The molecule orientation and structure can be controlled by applying an electrode potential in electrolyte solution and the formation process can be monitored by electrochemical scanning tunneling microscopy.
