"The ingenious use of troops" in Lao-tzu is interpreted as"the cunning use of forces",and the expla-nation is equivalent to purely military strategists,which was incompatible with Tao of Lao-tzu and against the deceptive wise. Therefore this kind of the explanation is not the original meaning of"the ingenious use of troops". "The ingenious use of troops" is a new strategy of war,which was created by Lao-tzu on the basis of Taoˊs following of nature. Its core essential is that the military war would be carried out in the natural laws,which includes four theoretical points:to study the method of the natural complex,and to obtain the magic form of army;second,to study the virtue of Heaven and Earth who are like to create lives,and not to kill innocent people;the third,to study the spirit of naturally cold and killing, and to fight under the pressure of war;the fourth,to study the character of Nature who obtains victory without action,and to vanquish enemy without battle. Compared with the strongly practical and utilitarian military strategy,the thought of "the ingenious use of troops" reflects the strongly speculative and ideal color.%《老子》中“以奇用兵”的内涵，古今诸多注家将其解读为“以阴谋诡诈之术用兵”。这是从纯粹军事学意义上作的解释，是与《老子》“道法自然”的理论特质及老子反伪贵真的道论内涵相悖逆的，因而是不准确的。“以奇用兵”是老子在道法自然的理论前提下创设的新型用兵方略，其核心要领是师法自然而兴军用战，其内涵要点为：法自然玄奥之德而兵形神奇，法天地好生之德不纵欲滥杀，法自然肃杀之德而不得已应战，法自然无为而成之德而收不战而胜之功。较之操作性、功利性极强的兵家方略《，老子》“以奇用兵”体现出浓厚的思辨与理想色彩。
