As a component of discourse connection and a phrasal discourse marker, yibanlaishuo/yibans-huolai(generallys peaking)is always followed by a declarative sentence, which is used to introduce the immedi-ate constituents of the discourse to state the universality of facts. Together with co-text, the discourse language chunk made up of yibanlaishuo and the immediate constituents composes a continuum of semantic coherence:identical expression →word explanation→illustration→ classification →comment→ derivation →amend-ment→transition ,which promote the textual cohesion and semantic coherence.
