Amy Tan’s Saving Fish from Drowning is featured with the absurdity. In this novel,Amy Tan adopts broader and newer narrative methods by giving up her proficient autobiographical narrative about Chinese Americans. Tan annotates the social reality solemnly and arouses readers to retrospect it more deeply by portraying a group of absurd people. The absurd and incredible events commonly seen in the story show heavy sarcasm to the distorting society reverse the contingency and the inevitability and express the Amy’s regret and pity toward the ab⁃surdity in the factual society.
