Trinitrotoluene (TNT) red water produced during the refining process of crude TNT is a kind of alkaline wastewater. It contains a large amount of organisms and is very toxic and difficult to be treated. The technologies of the treatment of TNT red water,such as physical method,chemical method and biological method,in China and abroad are reviewed. The advantages and disadvantages of each method and the difficulties in the treatment of TNT red water,compared with the general TNT wastewater,are pointed out. It is difficult to satisfy both of the technical and economic requirements at the same time Just by using one kind of technology alone. It is suggested that the focal point and trend of future researches should be to use various kinds of combined technologies for treating red water or extracting and making use of abundant nitrotoluene materials contained in red water.%TNT红水是TNT精制过程中产生的一种碱性废水,有机物含量高,毒性大,处理困难.笔者综述了国内外TNT红水的处理技术,主要分为物理法、化学法和生物法,指出了每种方法的优缺点及TNT红水较一般TNT废水处理上的困难性.单独使用一项技术处理TNT红水,很难同时满足技术上和经济上的要求,提出了多种技术联合处理TNT红水或提取及利用红水中丰富的硝基甲苯类物质将会是今后研究的重点和方向.
