At present, one of the hot topics in architecture research is searching for the characteristics and individuality of Chinese cities and architecture. The study of a given region is apparently necessary within the study of the cultural characteristics of architecture, and this research can provide more clues for further study. This paper provides an overview of Wuhan urban traditional architectural history background. Classification, present situation, so as to think the cultural characteristics of the traditional architecture in Wuhan city from the appearance. In addition, the author summarized the "artistic conception" of traditional architecture in Wuhan from three different aspects of coupling hardness with softness, magnificent and open, romantic and free. And on order to provide a reference for creation of urban architectural features of Wuhan, even to truly reflect the cultural heritage and regional charm in modern architectural design.%探寻城市及建筑的个性特色是目前城市建设领域的热点问题之一,对特定地域传统建筑文化特色进行研究尤为必要,这将给建筑创作带来更多灵感及思路.该文概述了武汉市区传统建筑的历史背景、分类、现状,从表象出发进而思考武汉市区传统建筑文化现象所蕴涵的地方特色,分别从刚柔并济、大气开阔、浪漫自由三方面举例并总结了武汉传统建筑中的“意”,期待能为武汉城市建筑特色的营造提供一些借鉴,在现代建筑创作中真正体现出文化传承和地域神韵.
