The advantages and disadvantages of different styles of air flotation are compared. The oil removal effect and application status of electro-flotation, induced air flotation, dissolved air flotation, cavitation air flotation, coalescence + air flotation, flotation + magnetic separation, and rotational flow + flotation are summarized, with development direction of the air flotation process pointed out.
