Critical Discourse Analysis(CDA),a critical approach to discourse analytical research which combines textual analysis and social theories,has shown that English news texts are often ideologically invested.English-Chinese(E-C)new translators at work,therefore,should critically read the source text to reveal those ideologies by firstly occupy a reading position and then perform a somewhat less-systematic CDA on it.After a critical reading,three different types of translating strategies are available for the translator.They are:(1)uncritical translating;(2)neutral translating;(3)radical translating,among which neutral translating may be the more desirable.
